When the media makes a difference and when it just adds to the noise

In cases of corruption, the media can be an engine of pressure or a megaphone of chaos. The difference lies in verification.

A serious editorial team is not satisfied with a screenshot, a context-free audio, or an anonymous message.

It asks for the document, the person, the date, the objection, the interest involved. Only then does the issue not remain just coffee shop talk.

For a media outlet with a critical and uncomplicated approach to power, like CNA, denunciation should not be treated as clickbait material.

It must be treated as a track that requires control, confrontation, and persistence. Because if an unsupported accusation is made, only those who have an interest in presenting every denunciation as slander benefit.

On the other hand, the public must also understand that not every temporary silence by the media means a lack of will.

Sometimes it takes hours, days or weeks to tie up the threads. The problem starts when procrastination turns into oblivion. That's where the media fails in its mission. / CNA
