The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, during a press conference, spoke about the new Penal Code, after a meeting with foreign investors in Tirana.
Manja said that even in the new draft "abuse of duty" is foreseen as a criminal offense.
"Abuse of duty is a criminal offense even in the draft of the new Penal Code that will be submitted for public consultation within this year. The draft was prepared by a group of professional experts of the country. It will take the necessary time for public consultation. We will absorb the opinions and suggestions of professionals in the field and interest groups, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, business and any legal professional who will contribute to the improvement of the new criminal code", he said.
Meanwhile, the new draft of the Criminal Code is expected to be released very soon for public consultation./ CNA
