A couple of Albanians "stood up" the police in Pesaro after they escaped with only a few days left to serve their sentence.

43-year-old Emilian Bici and 38-year-old Ermelinda Spahiu did not appear in prison on Tuesday afternoon.

Italian media reports that the couple was arrested after an attempted murder that occurred in January 2018 in Punta Marina, when during a bloody attack in which a third arrested person also participated, a 57-year-old man was stabbed near a bar and then the perpetrators left the scene, leaving him dead. During the investigation, Bici was caught in Naples while the woman near Fano.

The Italian authorities inform that Spahi only had 5 days left until the end of his sentence.

The authorities have clarified that they were on parole due to good behavior, while after their work shift at a farm, they did not return to the bus that took them back to Pesaro prison every day.

As reported by the Italian press, the couple is wanted all over Italy. / CNA
