January 21/ Manja: Strasbourg spoke, the file is still open
Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, has reacted after the decision of the Strasbourg Court for the decision of January 21, describing this issue as an open chapter.

Manja in a statement to the media said that the Albanian justice authorities should come up with an answer to the case of "January 21" since the European Court of Human Rights has clearly said that January 21 is a state crime that must be investigated.

"I have to say that the Strasbourg decision, although delayed, after 12 years, is a good decision, it confirmed our positions on January 21, it was considered a violation of Article 2 of the convention. The authorities have the obligation to respect the decision of Strasbourg. January 21 is an open chapter, there must be a clear answer from the Albanian authorities for January 21. "Strasbourg has said that January 21 was not investigated in its entirety as a state crime," said Manja.

The Strasbourg Court, in its decision on Alex Nika, emphasized that there are two violations in this case: Murder and then not investigating the murder! In the decision of this court, it is emphasized that the state is responsible for the murder of Aleks Nika, while the culprit must be punished. From the protest of January 21, 2011, Ziber Veizi, Hekuran Deda Faik Myrtaj and Aleks Nikaj were killed, while 6 other protesters were injured./ CNA
