This Friday evening, a ceremony was held for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the General Directorate of Archives.

During his speech, the director of the Archives, Ardit Bido, described the institution he leads as the guardian of the heritage of knowledge, existence, the nation and humanity as a whole.

Bido stated that Archives play a critical role in raising awareness and how the past is shaped and reformulated in the present.

Also, he said that Archives provide us with information and evidence about the actions of individuals, organizations and communities.

"Albanian archives serve as guardians not only of the heritage of knowledge, existence and nation, but also of humanity as a whole

Archives provide us with information and evidence about the actions of individuals, organizations and communities, and illuminate the environment in which those actions took place. Archives preserve and reconfirm human memory and that of public and private institutions

Archives play a critical role in raising awareness of the past and how the past is shaped and reformulated in the present.

Archives are instruments to understand where we come from and with what tools we can build the future. As such, they speak to the past, but also to the future", emphasized Ardit Bido./ CNA
