New details have emerged regarding the scandal discovered in the treatment of hospital waste, in the framework of which EM, the administrator of the private company, was arrested.

The measure "prison arrest" has been imposed on the administrator. In the meantime, 8 state inspectors have been suspended from duty, and 2 administrators of private firms have been ordered to appear. 

The investigations showed that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, through the entities they administered, had a tender for the treatment of hazardous hospital waste for the Berat hospital.

One of the subjects won the tender for waste treatment and in the documentation participating in the tender, another company was used, which did not have the appropriate technology, so the waste of a hospital was not disposed of according to the legal procedure, as a result they created health problems of people and the environment.

Police Notification: 

The operation is finalized after a real investigative work, by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Special Force Sector for Special Operations in DVP Tirana, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana, the operation Police "Recycling".

In its framework, the following security measures were implemented:

1. "Arrest in prison", for the EM citizen, 30 years old, resident in Kruja (administrator of an entity), for the criminal offenses "Forgery of documents", "Waste management" and "Dangerous activities";

2. "Compulsion to appear before the Judicial Police" and "Temporary prohibition of the exercise of financial activity", for the citizen E. Sh., 45 years old, resident in Tirana (administrator of an entity), as well as for the citizen L Sh., 39 years old (administrator of an entity), for the criminal offense "Forgery of documents";

3. "Suspension of exercising a duty or public service" and "Prohibition of going abroad", for citizens J. Sh., 35 years old, EP, 59 years old, AM, 53 years old, ND, 42 years old, AK, 39 years old, BL, 30 years old, IB, 48 years old and KA, 33 years old, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Abuse of duty".

It is suspected that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, through the subjects they administered, had a tender for the treatment of hazardous hospital waste for the Berat hospital. One of the subjects won the tender for waste treatment and in the documentation participating in the tender, another company was used, which did not have the appropriate technology, so the waste of a hospital was not disposed of according to the legal procedure, as a result they created health problems of people and the environment.
