The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku explained in detail the railway line Vorë-Hani i Hoti.

Balluku said this Thursday afternoon in Parliament that the railway line will have 12 stations. She announced that the speed of the trains will be 120 km/h.

According to her, the railway line will have a flow of 2.3 million passengers per year and a volume of goods of 900 thousand tons per year.

The minister emphasized that the average travel time from Vora to Hani e Hoti will be only 2 hours.

"The Vorë-Hani i Hoti railway line and the railway line connecting Durrës with Pristina will provide an infrastructural completion on the one hand and will also give special national importance to the port of Durres. So, not just a railway for passenger transport, but a complementary railway to support one of our biggest projects, that of the port of Durrës.

This line also brings the renewal of one of the historical arteries that we have had, a line built early in the Republic of Albania, perhaps one of the first and a line that has functioned until these times, despite its depreciation.

Also, the project consists of improving the railway line, turning it into a total modernization. It is predicted that the speed of the trains that will move in Vorë-Hani i Hoti will be 120 km/h. It is said that all the lines will be electrified lines. Just as the electrification of Tirana-airport-Durres has started, so will we continue with all the other lines.

The construction of 12 railway stations, the construction of a 320-meter long tunnel and the construction of 112 bridges are also foreseen during this project. With the construction of this railway line, a flow of 2.3 million passengers a year and a volume of goods of 900 thousand tons per year is expected, while the average travel time from Vora to Hani e Hoti will be only 2 hours", underlined Balluku./ CNA
