The company "SENA SOLAR ENERGY OF ALBANIA" LLC, which is part of the Albanian Electricity Corporation (KESH), recently submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy (MIE) the application for the 13.8 MW photovoltaic plant to be built in Vaun e Deja.

The ministry announced that this project is already awaiting comments from third parties before it goes for approval, while it is not the subject of a concession.

"Based on Article 15 of the Decision of the Council of Ministers No. 822, dated 7.10.2015 "On the approval of the rules and procedures for the construction of new electricity production capacities, which are not the subject of a concession" as amended, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy announces the following: "SENA SOLAR ENERGY OF ALBANIA" Company LLC has expressed interest and has submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the application for the construction of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 13.8 MW, for the production of electricity from renewable sources, which is not the subject of a concession and does not benefit from the support measures, located in the HEC Vau i Dejës reservoir, Vau i Dejës Municipality, Shkodër District.

The deadline for sending comments to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is 15 days, starting from the date of publication of this announcement on the official website: www.infrastruktur.gov.al", says the MIE announcement.

This project is expected to be financed with a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development that has already received approval earlier, while part of the cost will be borne by the public company itself.

KESH has engaged in recent years in several projects related to energy from photovoltaic sources as a way to optimize production in the Drin cascade which is entirely hydro. Earlier, the Qyrsaqi plant started production, which in the first year recorded an amount of 7019 MWH of energy./ Monitor
