The criminal group for the trafficking of immigrants is hit, 26 arrested, among

The General Director of Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, in a press conference gave details about the action in cooperation with SPAK against the trafficking of illegal immigrants.

According to Rumbullak, there are 26 arrested, 5 were declared wanted, 4 are abroad. A police officer is also among those arrested.

The police also discovered a laboratory where passports of EU countries were forged. Thousands of euros and 10 Italian, Greek and Slovenian passports, 120 notarial contracts for sale and purchase of real estate were also seized.

The operation to arrest suspects for migrant trafficking has also brought investigators from Spain, Italy, Kosovo, the USA to our country.

Round Statement:

The State Police, in cooperation with the Spanish National Police, after an intensive 2-year investigation within the joint investigative team, carried out the "NOMADA" operation to attack a structured criminal group, which operated mainly in the field of forgery of documents and assistance for illegal crossing of the border and smuggling of citizens.

In the framework of this operation, SPAK and GJKKO set the measure of personal security "arrest in prison" for 31 citizens for committing the criminal offenses "Aiding for illegal crossing of borders", carried out in the form of special cooperation, "Forgery of documents", carried out in the form of special cooperation; "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by criminal organization or criminal group".

Of the 31 citizens with a personal security measure of "arrest in prison", it was possible to capture and execute the court decision for 26 citizens and for the other 4 citizens, a wanted notice was issued, as it turns out that they are outside the country, while 1 citizen is inside the Albanian territory for which the operational structures are engaged for its capture.

Among the arrested persons is also an enforcement level police officer.

Also, for 6 citizens, the court imposed the measure of "house arrest".

In continuation of this criminal proceeding, 5 other citizens were arrested, while 35 people were arrested in Spain.

The operational actions were professionally coordinated with our counterparts in Italy and Kosovo, while for the implementation of the operation in Albania, around 500 police forces were engaged in several cities, such as Tirana, Durrës, Shkodër, Berat, Kukës and Shijak.

During the operation, the following were seized: 7 vehicles;

1 laboratory for falsification of documents;

25 thousand euros;

20 thousand

pounds;

10 Italian, Greek, Slovenian passports and foreign identity cards;

1 weapon

hunt; 10 laptops;

15 computers and printers used for sales and transfers

virtual currency - BITCOIN;

amount of narcotics; 47 mobile devices;

1 lighting device; gold jewelery and pendants of considerable value and

120 notarial contracts of sale and purchase of real estate and vehicles.

From the operational, tracking and investigative actions, it results that the main subjects carried out the illegal activity of forging travel documents, mainly EU documents, which include passports, identity cards, driving licenses, health cards and bank cards.

These forged documents were used on a large scale to facilitate illegal border crossing, to facilitate the journey of irregular Albanian migrants to the United Kingdom and Ireland, but not only.

These trips were mainly made to Spanish airports, especially those in Majorca, Madrid, Barcelona and Alicante.

The investigation with special methods showed that Albanian citizens were leaving Albania with their original Albanian passports for EU countries, within the "Schengen" area.

The forged documents were then mailed to hotels where they were staying in Spain or to residential addresses.

It is worth noting that the "NOMADA" operation was completed thanks to the excellent cooperation with the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, EUROPOL and the Security Office of the US Embassy in Tirana.

The State Police thanks the international partners for the quick and professional cooperation in the implementation of the "NOMADA" operation.

I have said it before and I would like to repeat it again that, crime in general and especially organized crime, has no nationality and in the global world it is becoming more and more transnational.

Therefore, I believe that interaction between law enforcement agencies is an essential element in our joint effort to crack down on organized crime, wherever it occurs.

Specifically, our cooperation with the National Police of Spain has been qualitatively raised and has already been consolidated, giving significant results in the fight against criminal phenomena that concern both countries.

I would like to thank the leaders of the State Police and the employees of the State Police, engaged in this operation, for the investigative work and the organizational and operational actions that guaranteed the success of the operation./ CNA
