English teams disappoint in Europe, only one win in nine matches

The English teams that played in European competitions this week have recorded one of the weakest records in recent years.

Out of nine matches played in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, only one team managed to win.

The only win came from Aston Villa, who triumphed away to Lille. In the Champions League, some of the biggest English clubs suffered heavy losses.

Manchester City were beaten by Real Madrid, while Chelsea and Tottenham suffered heavy defeats to their opponents. Liverpool also left Turkey without a point against Galatasaray.

Arsenal and Newcastle managed only draws in their matches. The poor results also affected the European coefficient rankings, although England still remain at the top of the list.
