AFF "in love" with the Italians, Maran is fifth in the National Team

The Albanian Football Federation has decided to return to the Italian school of coaches, choosing Rolando Maran as the new coach of the national team.

The Italian coach has signed a two-year contract, from which he is expected to earn around 400 thousand euros. Maran becomes the fifth Italian to take charge of the Rossoneri after Giuseppe Dossena, Gianni De Biasi, Christian Panucci and Edy Reja.

Gianni De Biasi remains the coach with the most successful period, after leading Albania in 52 matches and securing historic qualification for Euro 2016. Meanwhile, Edi Reja achieved the promotion of the National Team from League C to League B of the Nations League during the 2020-2021 season.

Rolando Maran replaces Brazilian Silvinho, who ended his collaboration with the Albanian Football Association (AFCA) after positive results in the qualifiers. The 62-year-old coach's last experience was with Brescia in 2025, an adventure that ended with the team's relegation to Serie C.

With this appointment, Albania begins another cycle based on the Italian model of management and tactical organization.
