1) “Hidden” carbohydrates in liquid form

Smoothie, fruit juice, "detox juice", coffee with syrups, sweetened tea, drinkable yogurt with fruit.

In liquid form, sugar/carbohydrates are absorbed faster → stronger insulin spike.

Solution: eat fruit (not juice), or a smoothie with protein + fat + fiber (e.g. plain unsweetened yogurt + chia seeds + berries), without honey/syrup.

2) “Sweet” or “low protein” breakfast

Breakfast cereal, granola, "whole grain" cookies, croissants, bread + jam/honey, fruit only.

Even "whole" grains, if processed, often have a high glycemic index → ??higher insulin.

Solution: for breakfast, aim for protein + fiber: eggs/omelette, unsweetened Greek yogurt, lactose-free cheese, oatmeal with seeds + nuts, wholemeal bread + protein.

3) Frequent snacking throughout the day

"Little by little" every 1–2 hours (fruit, cookies, crackers, energy bars, coffee with milk, unlimited nuts).

This keeps insulin active all day and prevents "metabolic sleep."
