Disappearance of 16 immigrants in Gjadra/Këlliçi: Respect for human

The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, has reacted to the news that 16 immigrants have disappeared from the Gjadri camp.

In a status on social media, Këlliçi writes that the treatment of immigrants and respect for human rights in this camp is at alarming levels.

At the end of his status, Këlliçi raises the question of whether Albania is a country for installing prisons outside the EU territory or a member state with full rights in the European Union.

" The news about the disappearance of 16 migrants from the Gjadri camp is disturbing. "

A camp that came about as a result of a dubious agreement, a camp that was promoted as "aid" to Italy and migrants is now ending up as an anonymous extraterritorial prison, where migrants disappear from the radar.

Earlier, news circulated in the media about a revolt of migrants inside the camp, where according to reports, three of them were injured with a knife.

Albanian citizens, as well as Italian taxpayers, must be informed in a transparent and timely manner.

This camp has within itself serious problems of violating the sovereignty of the Republic of Albania.

In addition, it appears that the treatment of immigrants and respect for human rights is at alarming levels.

Immigrants from different countries around the world are brought to Albania, transported without any information, treated as superfluous people.

Albanian citizens, Italians, and the immigrants themselves deserve to know what the ultimate goal of this camp is in terms of integration or return of immigrants, whether protocols in accordance with human rights are implemented there, is it subject to European legislation, and what the vision for the future is:

"Albania a place of installation of prisons outside the territory of the EU or Albania a member of the EU with full rights ," writes Këlliçi./ CNA
