The Secretary General of ICD-CDI, Spanish MEP Antonio Lopez Istruiz, has expressed concern about the elections in Albania.

In his speech at the General Assembly, Istruiz stated that the SP's victory was questionable.

He added that the foundations of democracy are in danger and that Edi Rama is the shame of the country.

Among other things, he emphasized that Albania needs change.

"Not only in Europe, but everywhere in the world. We must act. When democracy is at risk, silence is not an option. We must also express our concern about the recent elections in Albania.

Just a few weeks before the vote, I had the opportunity to visit Tirana and Kavaja, together with the CDI delegation, and witness with my own eyes the strong public support for our member party and our dear friend Sali Berisha.

The election result was declared a victory with many questions raised by the socialist candidate Edi Rama, the one who sits like a clown in front of Meloni.

Today, this is the prime minister of Albania. This is the shame of the country. He is a socialist prime minister who, as you know, is finished, he is alone. What Albania needs is change.

I mention this example because there are many examples in Europe, Africa and Asia that need to change. Because we are united by a common cause. Our values ??are under pressure. But they are defended every day by leaders and citizens who believe that democracy, freedom and dignity are worth fighting for.

May this meeting in Abidjan give us new strength and reaffirm our commitment. May it remind us that regardless of the continent, our cause is the same and that by standing together, we are strong. Let us be proud of what we have achieved together.
