Health safety during the tourist season/ Koçiu: Continuous checks on

As part of the measures taken by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for the tourist season, health inspectors are continuing inspections of various accommodation entities and service providers for vacationers for compliance with hygiene and sanitary conditions.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, accompanied by the Director of the Tirana Institute of Health, Klinton Leka, closely inspected a subject in Tirana which has been operating in the field of tourism for two years, offering bar-restaurant, accommodation-hotel and swimming pool services.

The focus of this inspection was compliance with hygiene and sanitary conditions and criteria for the use of swimming pools.

During her conversation with the administrator and staff of this tourist entity, Minister Koçiu emphasized the importance of implementing criteria that guarantee the safety and smooth running of the tourist season, for which checks will continue throughout the season.

" The ISHSH has an obligation to go out and check compliance with hygiene and sanitary conditions throughout the summer season. I am glad that you have implemented all these criteria to ensure, first and foremost, that vacationers are safe and receive satisfactory service here, but also to ensure that hygiene and sanitary conditions are respected ," said Minister Koçiu.

Focusing on the measures taken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, Koçiu emphasized that "we do not have any potential sources of infections that increase in the summer season due to high temperatures."

She underlined that for this purpose, the disinfestation process is continuing along the entire coastline. Minister Koçiu also brought to attention the importance of cooperation between private entities and state institutions in this regard.

" We do our part as institutions together with the IHP and OSKSH, but in the meantime, businesses themselves have an added responsibility at this point because the area where the activity and business takes place is your responsibility. We must go together to make it an effective process ," appealed the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Tirana Public Health Institute, Klinton Leka, emphasized that "last season we did not have any infectious cases from swimming pools and this is an area where we do not compromise. We will be very correct and very strict."

The process of measuring water quality and chlorine levels in the pool was also demonstrated at the premises of this entity./ CNA
