The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, expressed his position today regarding the appeal requests from four DP candidates to the KAS regarding their results from the May 11 elections. Earlier, the four DP candidates, Ilir Alimehmeti, Lisandër Hoxha, Aulon Kalaja and Mimoza Hajdarmataj, requested a recount of votes in Tirana and Durrës.

 Berisha said that the DP does not stop them from this step because it does not have Edi Rama's standard.

"I'm not talking about electoral farce, it's an undeniable reality. What you say, 2,3,4,5 verifications, irregularities, these do not refute anything, not even in what we say. On the contrary. As for the candidates, I don't know how many have requested a recount or how many have requested the procedure, but whoever wants to is free to do it, we do not block anyone from being transparent, at all. If there were unscrupulous people, they will be identified and a legal position will be taken, without question. We do not have two standards here. We do not have Edi Rama's standard that prohibits transparency, we will never do that. I believe the answer is clear. I do not know how many there are. Even two days ago I repeated the instructions, where every candidate who requests transparency, we must fully support him from the party, because that is what the law requires", - said Berisha. /CNA
