The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at today's media conference also commented on the local elections held yesterday in Kosovo. 

Berisha said that Kosovo gave a lesson to Tirana and Belgrade on how to conduct free and fair elections. He added that the electoral process honored the citizens of Kosovo and the future of the country. 

"Kosovo gave a great lesson to Tirana, to Belgrade and all the autocracies of the region, it held free, fair, dignified elections. Kosovo, although with a caretaker government, but held an electoral process in local elections that honored its citizens, the values, the freedom of its citizens, the vote and the future of Kosovo.

"I take this opportunity to warmly congratulate the citizens of Kosovo, to take this opportunity to congratulate the political forces, the elected officials, the candidates who ran for this celebration of democracy, this festival of free voting that took place yesterday in all the communes and municipalities of that country," Berisha said, among other things. /CNA
