Von der Leyen: Transaction fees in the Western Balkans were 6 times higher than in the EU

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen delivered her speech at the EU–WB6 Investment Forum.

Von der Leyen said that before becoming part of SEPA, transaction fees in the Western Balkans were 6 times higher than in the EU.

The EC President stated that the Western Balkans are on the right track to becoming part of the European Union.

Further, the EC President stated that the Western Balkans growth plan aims to double regional GDP.

"Transaction fees in the Western Balkans were 6 times higher than in the EU. SEPA membership is progress not only on paper, but also in reality. The Western Balkans are firmly on the path to becoming part of the EU. The Western Balkans Growth Plan aims to double regional GDP. The time to invest in the Western Balkans is now," said the EC President.
