"The elections are rigged"/ Beleri: The Albanian people do not want a

MEP Fredi Beleri said today that he has chosen to be useful and tell his European colleagues the truth regarding what happened in the May 11 parliamentary elections.

In a television appearance on 'Syri TV', Beleri stated that the Albanian people have lived for 45 years under dictatorship and do not want a new dictatorship.

Beleri accused that organized crime has its representatives in every district.

"I tried to explain to my European colleagues today what the real situation is in Albania and what happened in the May 11 elections. I was told that in every district, organized crime has its representatives."

I know that many viewers are now saying about me, but also about the opposition MPs who were there, that we are doing Albania harm. I believe that it is better to be useful and truthful than to cover up these facts and have Albania go downhill and not move towards Europe.

So, I have chosen to be useful and tell my truths, even though many people right now think that we are doing them harm, but it is not true. It needs to be cleaned up. The Albanian people have lived 45 years of dictatorship and they do not want a new dictatorship.

The separation of powers does not work. Justice in our country is the extended hand of power. There can be no elections for this, this killed the elections, it killed democracy. It is not that the elections could have been different. There is no way it could have been different, the elections are rigged. We have a lot of work ahead of us to clarify," Beleri said. /CNA
