The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, held a press conference, where he spoke about the Ombudsman.

Balla invited all citizens who meet the conditions to express interest by 00:00 today, when the application deadline ends.

The next day, the list of people who have expressed interest will be published, the head of the SP group announced. The list will then go to the responsible committee.

Regarding a preference on the part of the Socialists, Balla said that the Socialist Party today does not yet have a name to support.

 

" For three years, since the end of the current attorney's term, the successor has not been elected. The law states that the new Attorney must be elected within 30 days of the end of the term. I remind all Albanian citizens who meet the criteria, until today at 00:00, they have the right to express interest. Starting tomorrow, the Albanian Parliament will publish the list of persons who have expressed interest. The list will go to the responsible committee. My proposal is that what has not happened in these 3 years, whether in the Assembly or in the committee, as the opposition thinks, let's sit down and elect the People's Advocate.

"The SP does not have a name to support today. The focus of the message today should be for 3 opposition parliamentary groups. When the committee responsible for candidacies meets, my proposal is the institutionalization of a position-opposition agreement ," declared Balla.
