Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha said today that the investigation and full clarification of the circumstances of the 'January 21' event is in his and the DP's best interest.

In a statement to the media, Berisha described it as the most violent demonstration with a political agenda to overthrow the government.

Berisha stated that there was no order from anyone for this incident and that the guards acted according to the law.

"There is no question that a full investigation and clarification of this issue is in the utmost interest of Sali Berisha and the DP because it was clear, an agenda, the most violent demonstration with a political agenda of overthrowing the government.

There was no order from anyone and they will never find that there was none. The Guard acted according to the law that was approved by the socialist majority that was before we came to power. That's it.

"In every summons that may be issued to me, I appear, I have my own concepts for the state, I have proven this," Berisha said./CNA
