Electronic voting on May 11/ CEC tests 3% of devices

The CEC conducted operational testing of electronic voting and counting equipment for the May 11 elections today.

In a post on social media, Chief Commissioner Celibashi wrote that 3% of the devices were selected to simulate the process of opening, voting, closing and broadcasting the results, verifying compliance with the criteria set by the CEC.

Celibashi further writes that these devices guarantee 100% secrecy of the vote.

Celibashi said that information centers have been set up in the areas where electronic voting will be conducted, where citizens can test the devices.

" We conducted operational testing of electronic voting and counting equipment for the May 11, 2025 elections!"

As part of the pilot project that will be implemented in Administrative Unit No. 10, Tirana and in the Municipality of Vora, the CEC Albania conducted operational testing of Electronic Voting and Counting Equipment (EVC).

In accordance with Article 22, point 6 of the Electoral Code, 3% of the devices were selected to simulate the process of opening, voting, closing and transmission of the result, verifying compliance with the criteria set by the CEC.

We guarantee citizens that the devices ensure 100% secrecy of the vote. There is no possibility that citizens' votes can be identified or discovered by anyone — neither by the CEC, nor by the company that manufactured the devices.

Verification by the voter of the printed vote before it is deposited in the box

Software with high security standards and a user-friendly interface

To familiarize citizens with this technology, we have set up Information Centers in the areas where electronic voting will be implemented. Anyone can go, try out the equipment, and simulate voting.

In the elections of May 11, 2025, the devices will be used in:

44 voting centers in the Municipality of Vora

31 voting centers in Administrative Unit No. 10, Tirana
