The US Chargé d'Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn, reacted for the first time with a message in the Albanian language after taking office. 

Through a video message published by the US embassy in Tirana, VanHorn expresses his interest in discovering and learning more about Albania.

She emphasizes that she is excited to be in Albania and to work for common goals to promote democratic values, to increase security and cooperation as a NATO ally, to promote economic growth and move towards the EU -'s.  

“Since joining the United States Foreign Service in 2007, I have served as a diplomat throughout Eastern Europe, including embassies in Ukraine, Armenia, and Russia. I am excited to be in Albania and to work towards common goals to promote democratic values, increase security and cooperation as a NATO ally, and advance economic growth. I am committed to supporting Albania on its way to the EU and strengthening relations between the two countries. I have been learning Albanian and can't wait to discover the rich culture of Albania for myself. For this I need your help to get started. I have three questions for you. Which country should I visit first? What is the must-try food? Which book that shows the spirit of your country do you recommend? Comment here for your ideas. The US Chargé d'Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn, took office on August 5 and her first meeting was with President Bajram Begaj.
