Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the victory of the elections in the Municipality of Himara.

The head of the government has called the victory of Vangjel Tavos, the SP candidate, spectacular. He points out that Himara will become one of the most sought-after destinations in the Mediterranean. 

"Good morning and with congratulations to the new mayor of Himara for the spectacular victory, the satisfaction of the significant support for the Socialist Party in yesterday's elections, as well as the determination to turn Himara 2030 into one of the most sought-after destinations in the Mediterranean, where in the first place all those who work in the tourism industry in Greece, return for better salaries and for the irreplaceable air of the homeland, I wish you all a week as peaceful as possible", said Rama.

The results published by the CEC show that Tavo received 5022 votes, from 58.62% of voters.

His opponent, the opposition candidate, Petro Gjikuria, was supported by 3545 citizens, or 41.38 of the voters.

The difference between the two candidates is 1477 votes./CNA
