This Monday, at a public session held by the Central Election Commission, a draw was held to randomly determine the voting centers and external ballot boxes that will be subject to post-election verification.

The selection results in a total of 210 ballot boxes being subject to post-election verification.

"Post-election verification is carried out in accordance with Article 167/2 of the Electoral Code and is carried out only after the final result has been announced, the appeal procedures have been concluded and the elections have ended."

The draw procedure was carried out by the CEC Administration in implementation of Order No. 153, dated 19.11.2025, "On the initiation of the post-election verification process for the Assembly elections of May 11, 2025", as well as the Commissioner's instruction No. 15, dated 07.10.2021.

For post-election verification, 5% of the voting centers for each CEAZ, as well as 5% of the ballot boxes for each KVAZ, were randomly selected, in accordance with points 2 and 3 of order no. 153 and the procedures set out in instruction no. 15 of 2021 of the SEC.

In the elections of May 11, 2025, a total of 6,184 ballot boxes were administered, divided into:

5,225 ballot boxes of Voting Centers within the country

959 ballot boxes belonging to voting from abroad (KAVJ)

3101 ballot boxes from VCs within the country and 874 ballot boxes from voting abroad were subjected to random selection out of a total of 5225 VCs within the country and a total of 959 ballot boxes from voting abroad.

In the selection process, ballot boxes that have been recounted during the appeals review process (2124 VCs within the country and 85 boxes from voting abroad), those that are under criminal investigation for which there is a seizure decision or pending it.

The selection was made for each region and CEAZ separately, respecting the criterion that each area be treated equally.

The selection results in a total of 210 ballot boxes being subject to post-election verification.

"The purpose of the subsequent review of ballots and electoral material is to verify the regularity and accuracy of the electoral administration's activities throughout the administration of the process and the evaluation and counting of votes," the announcement states. /CNA
