GJKKO decision on Balluku/ "There is no deputy prime minister", Rama:

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a joint conference with Commissioner Kos, also spoke about the GJKKO decision against Belinda Balluku.

Rama stated that the Albanian government will take the GJKKO decision to the Constitutional Court and will await the Constitutional Court's decision.

The Prime Minister stated that we are not in a position to make any moves in the government, while noting that currently the functions of the Minister of Infrastructure and the Deputy Prime Minister are not functioning.

" We did not understand. The suspension is a court decision that we will forward to the Constitutional Court as a brutal act of interference in the independence of the executive branch. The Constitution must tell us what its position is based on the Republic of Albania. We are not in the conditions where any government move can be dictated. For the period we are talking about, there is no deputy prime minister and no functioning minister of infrastructure.

"It is not common in the EU for people to be suspended from office. This is unique in the history of Europe. It is not common in the EU for a mayor to be taken from office without trial and sent to prison ," Rama said.
