"You took the mayor out the door and put him in through the window",

Opposition councilor, Dorian Teliti, has requested that discussions on who is managing the Municipality of Tirana be included on the agenda at the Tirana Municipal Council meeting.

Teliti, during his speech, quoted a statement by the acting president, Anuela Ristani, where, according to him, she stated that she should not be held accountable, since she is not an elected president. He further added that Erion Veliaj is taking actions from a prison cell.

"You took the mayor out the door and put him in through the window. This Council must urgently put on the agenda how things are going in the Municipality of Tirana. We need to discuss what is happening with the Municipality of Tirana. 

We have a statement from the acting mayor, at the last meeting where she said that I am not an elected mayor, don't hold me accountable for everything. Now we have a decision from the Constitutional Court. We also have some acts taken by the mayor who is not physically in office.

"Can we know how this municipality is being managed? Can we discuss who the executive of this municipality is? We are asking for transparency. You determine the agenda yourself, the meeting schedule, you do not respect the meeting schedule, you include acts on the agenda that have not been passed by the committees," said Teliti. /CNA
