Scandal with debts to RTSH employees / Vasili gives account to the Parliament:

The Director of Albanian Radio Television, Eni Vasili, was present today at the Commission on Human Rights and Public Media.

In her speech, Vasili provided explanations regarding the situation of mismanagement of this institution's funds and debts with employee payments.

Vasili stated that this situation has come about as a result of the difficulty created by spending the anticipated fund within the first six months of the year, thus affecting payments and programming.

Vasili added that RTSH has drawn up a calendar to make payments, which according to her will continue in installments.

"There was mismanagement of funds, also found by the internal audit. The amount is 115 million for broadcasting within the first six months and since it has been spent, it has put programming in difficulty for the rest of the months. There were external projects. This is to understand how the inability to make payments came about. It is important that we have a calendar for these payments. There is also a calendar for installment payments, which will continue in the coming months. The institutional responsibility continues to remain with RTSH. The technical staff can respond. Transparency is a recommendation. We are working on a special structure that is also related to the new management, as it does not exist for documentation and online materials. Educational programs are in the new programming. So, as far as this is concerned, we are working with the team. We are in discussions and negotiations for the contract and programming for RTSH Shkollë", said Vasili. /CNA
