The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, invited to a television show, stated that the new date for the elections in Tirana is estimated to be mid-December.

Klosi stated that they are not afraid of the date and are preparing as if the elections were tomorrow.

"We are preparing as if the elections were tomorrow. It is not that we are afraid of the date, the sooner that date is, the better it would be for the citizens. As for us as a political force, we will wait for the decision of the Constitutional Court and then the new date of the President, but as the calculations show, mid-December is the possible date for the Tirana race ."

Klosi said that the November 9 date for Tirana has fallen and everything depends on the Constitutional Court, but the SP's desire is for the elections to be held as soon as possible.

"Now, according to the CEC, the 9th has fallen for Tirana. We have been to 5 other municipalities. But for the SP, in principle, we have no problem with the date. We are continuing preparations and I am part of the Tirana team to best support the preparations throughout its territory. The work is intensive, we are working hard. But we do not know, it all depends on the decision of the Constitutional Court. But I believe that this year will find and must find Tirana with a new mayor, because the city really needs a more complete direction for the affairs of the municipality, for what the citizens expect. And therefore our desire is for those elections to happen as soon as possible", declared Klosi./ CNA
