"Why does the government ignore UNESCO?!"/ Zhupa clashes with Gonxhe

In today's session of the Assembly, an interview was held with the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhen, requested by the democratic deputy Ina Zhupa. 

Zhupa turned to Gonxhe asking why the government ignores all UNESCO recommendations. 

"What interest does the government have in jeopardizing protected property? Why don't you ask our experts about anything? Get foreigners," she said. 

On the other hand, Gonxhe said that they have reflected the decisions in the Community of Cultural Heritage. He clarified that there is no business project in Butrint. 

"You mentioned names of people, but I don't think it's appropriate to stop here. It was to be welcomed that the decision in the Community of Cultural Heritage was unanimous. I don't know that I have been with such a person in function at the meeting in Paris. I know that Mr. Lorenc Bejko is a representative of ICOMOS in Albania and therefore he was not related to any business program. ADF has no intention of making a profit we mean 55 million euros has been given for cultural heritage. This foundation is not related to any enterprise that has a business behind it." - said Gonxhe./ CNA
