A few moments ago, protests started in front of Tirana City Hall, demanding the resignation of the mayor Erion Veliaj.

Hundreds of citizens gathered and chanted against Veliaj.

The head of the opposition councilors in the Tirana City Council, Dorjan Teliti, warned that the protests will not stop.

He demanded that Veliaj be brought to justice, stressing that SPAK has evidence to handcuff the mayor of the capital.

"We will stay and we are not afraid. Tirana and Albania know who has abused and who has stolen Tirana's taxes. So Veliaj and his team will bear responsibility. What amazes me is the fact that this man does not shy away from stealing. How this man does not back down from abuses, but continues to steal Tirana's money day after day. And this should end an hour ago. Because these offices have no place for people who break the law.

Therefore, the prosecution must speak today. Enough with SPAK, let's deal with real sharks. And they have first names and last names. Dear citizens, resistance is the best democratic tool to continue our resistance until the emptying of this building and then all other state buildings from thieves and corrupt people.
