"There is no membership without free elections"/ Former Foreign

Former Democratic Foreign Minister Aldo Bumçi spoke on television about the joint Albania-EU conference. Bumçi said that when issues are difficult, the EU does not make immediate decisions.

Regarding Albania's fulfillment of the conditions, the former minister stated that the easiest ones have been fulfilled.

The Democrat said there can be no compromise on fundamental things like democracy, institutions, or free elections. If these don't work, there is no EU membership.  

 

 

" This is part of the manipulation that is being done by dealing with the fact that IBAR has been approved or not. When issues are difficult, the EU does not make immediate decisions. Albania has met the easiest conditions, but still has heavy homework."

There can be no compromise on the foundations. If democracy, institutions and free elections do not function, the country will not become part of the EU. No country has ever joined the EU under the conditions that Albania has today ," said Bumçi.
