"Territorial" in Kukës/Mazniku and Boçi: Let's see it

The two co-chairs of the Commission for Administrative-Territorial Reform, Arbian Mazniku and Luçiano Boçi, were present this afternoon in Kukës, where the next hearing with citizens was held.

The discussions focused largely on the 2014 reform and everything that its adoption produced.

"Almost 12 years ago, in 2014-2015, we carried out a reform that went from 373 units and communes to 61 municipalities, which have collected more revenue, have been able to serve citizens more. It was a decentralizing reform, many functions that the government used to perform were delegated to municipalities. It is time to review the 2014 reform," said Mazniku.

"We must see Kukës in relation to what was promised to the citizens in 2014. Did this reform enrich Kukës, as promised? Because these beautiful words were also said in 2014: competence, autonomy, smaller administration. So do we have a smaller administration today?", said Boçi.

This hearing was the next in a series of hearings held across the country in recent weeks. /CNA
