"There was a considerable participation and a decision not easy to select the 5 finalists. Today, as we speak, together with this competition, we are in 15 competitions held internationally, we have 3 competitions that are being prepared. All of them are of the highest standards, not only in terms of the participation of architects among the most renowned in the world today, and not only in terms of the composition of the juries, but also in terms of the procedures followed. There are currently 12 contracts signed, 7 others in process, 3 master plans, 20 public buildings for development. By making state property in need of development available, high financial profitability is to be obtained, in function of the needs of public functions. The land area is 46,700 square meters. The new Congress Palace has resisted for 40 years from the point of view of infrastructure. The building has serious problems.
