"What happened in Zvërnec was scandalous"/ Rama: The state is not

Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech in Berat, described the events that occurred during the May 30 protest in Zvërnec as scandalous.

Rama stated that such events have occurred in every democratic state, while adding that a government should not be measured by events but by how it reacts.

While commenting on the reactions even after the measures taken by the state against those responsible for those events, he said that these contradictions have been encountered every time the government has undertaken such major initiatives.

"What happened was scandalous, but what more should a state do when something like this happens. Even the most democratic state is not measured by what happens, but by how it reacts. What more should the government and the state do? Arrests, criminal prosecutions, revoking the license of a private company, dismissing the police director. How can this still be allowed? This is another moment to remember how many times we have set out to do bigger things, we have encountered all kinds of opposition. This is not Albania that should be content with joining the EU, just by doing all those homework. This has all the possibilities to become a country that everyone else envies. Albania needs determination, leadership and great perseverance. You and I do not lack these in good or bad days. I think that no political force in all of Europe has experienced the taste of mud on the skin of people who have represented more than this political force of ours.
