Allegations about the minority in Zvërnec/ Rama responds to the Greek

Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking today regarding the situation created in recent days in Zvërnec, also responded to the reactions from the position of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Rama, he did not know that there was a Greek minority there, however, he describes the reaction as an act of violence, comparing it to cases of violence by Albanians in the neighboring country.  

Rama added that such a stance does not serve relations between the two countries. 

"I heard that there is a Greek minority there and I didn't know. Maybe I'm ignorant. The reaction of the Greek Foreign Ministry was an act of violence, as happened with Albanians on the streets or in prisons in Greece. In my opinion, this does not serve our relations, which are in their best days. The claims are legitimate, but they are resolved in the courts. This is because property titles are the basis, but the country cannot develop if it remains suspended on the claims. After all the crap we have inherited, while the right to protest is a right that cannot be discussed and we have defended it since day one," Rama declared./CNA
