KLP/Kapri report: There is a lack of institutional solidarity with prosecutors

The MP of the Opportunity Party, Erald Kapri, delivered his speech in the Assembly, following the report of the Chairperson of the KLP, Mirela Bogdani. Kapri said that in the KLP's report he noticed the lack of solidarity of the institution with the prosecutors.

The MP said that the leaders of justice institutions should not consider the Prime Minister's attacks on judicial decisions as normal. He further said that the High Prosecutorial Council and the High Judicial Council have failed to ensure transparency in the evaluation of judges.

"I have been following the KLP's reporting closely and have noticed the lack of solidarity with prosecutors. I think that the KLP should be more on the side of prosecutors to protect them from the prime minister's attacks. The leaders of these institutions should be responsible and not consider it normal when a prime minister attacks court decisions and it seems to them like it is a comment, it is not so.

There is something else that deserves attention, referring to the EU's growth plan, which measures the performance of every job of every institution based on the deadlines and the need we have to enter the EU.

"The Supreme Court and the Supreme Judicial Council have failed to ensure transparency in the evaluation of judges and prosecutors, the first and the second have both not forwarded to the prosecutor's office all cases that have remained in vetting. The Ministry of Justice has not issued instructions to improve judicial statistics," said Kapri. /CNA
