Niko Peleshi, call for fundamental change in parliamentary culture

The Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, in his speech in the Assembly where the motion for his dismissal was discussed, called on the deputies to make a fundamental change in the parliamentary culture.

Peleshi said that a change is needed that recognizes the role of the Assembly as a democratic example and that accepts every responsibility.

"We cannot continue on the path we are on. We must recognize our responsibility to model a better society. Oppositionism should not exclude respect. Piety should not be measured by personal attacks."

We can criticize harshly while being polite, we can hold strong convictions, and remain open to arguments.
