Kaso accuses Pelesh: He has committed serious violations to silence the

Democratic MP Ivi Kaso today shared his position and that of the opposition regarding their request for the dismissal of Parliament Speaker Niko Peleshi.

In his speech in the Assembly, Kaso emphasized that this request does not essentially punish an individual, but aims to restore the institution to respect the Constitution.

Kaso accused Pelesh of committing a series of serious and repeated violations, with the aim of silencing the voice of the opposition.

"We are not in a session with a regular agenda, but to address and provide a solution to a situation in the Albanian Parliament. The institution that should be the beating heart of democracy. It is in danger of turning into a voiceless institution. This is not coming from any external factor, but from the way of leadership by Speaker Niko Peleshi. It has consumed a series of serious, repeated violations, which have not only had the purpose and consequence of silencing the opposition's voice, but have seriously violated the authority of the institution that stems from the will of the sovereign. It is a call for a joint effort to stop a slide of the institution. We are not for punishing a single person, but for returning to an institution that respects the Constitution", - said Kaso. /CNA
