Leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, denied today that he had expressed support a few days ago for sitting down with Prime Minister Edi Rama to reduce the number of MPs.

In a statement to journalists, Berisha said that for a parliamentary committee meeting on such an issue, it is sufficient to have representatives from both parties sit down.

Berisha added that he supports the idea, which would also bring a reduction in costs for the institution.

"Absolutely not, I did not say that. I'm sorry you brought it up. There is a parliamentary commission. That commission and that law do not foresee my sitting with Edi Rama at all, under any circumstances.

He foresees that representatives of both parties in the election commission will also discuss these issues, the issue of the Senate, if the Senate is accepted, the number of deputies will automatically be reduced.

And I am for this option. The idea of ??the Senate is not my idea, it was initially proposed by the late Sabri Godo and defended with great skill.
