EC/Balla report: Albania at the top of the Balkan countries

Minister of State Taulant Balla has reacted after discussions in the European Parliament on the annual report on Albania, which is expected to be approved tomorrow by a majority vote.

Through a post on social networks, Minister Balla emphasized the strong support that Albania has received from the main political groups in the European Parliament as well as from the European Commission for membership in the European Union within this decade.

He underlines that this year's report positions Albania at the top of the Western Balkan countries in terms of progress in this process.

"Gratitude to the major political groups in the EP and the European Commission for their clear support for Albania's membership within this decade in the EU. The headline of this year's report is the fact that Albania is at the forefront of the Western Balkan countries in this process," Balla writes.

Regarding electoral reform, he explained that the new Parliament, which begins work on September 10, will be the institution that will address these issues. /CNA
