Rama: We are ready to sign an agreement with the EU to not use the veto or vote

At the end of his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that in 2028, when Albania has completed technical negotiations, work on political negotiations will be able to begin.

That year, he said that Italy would also take over the presidency of the Council of Europe and, according to him, Albania would be in safe hands. He stressed again that Albania was ready to make an agreement with the EU, so as not to use the veto or vote, with the aim of membership.

"It would be the icing on the cake if in 2028, when Italy takes over the presidency of the European Council, and Giorgia will have a double responsibility. After we have completed the technical negotiations, we will be able to start working on the political negotiations. If the responsibility will be Giorgia's then we will be in safe hands. We are ready to make an agreement with the EU not to use the veto or the vote and we are ready to sign that we can be represented by the Italian European Commissioner. It would be very good to have two commissioners for the same country because we are the same country ," Rama said. /CNA
