Balluku meets the Italian Minister of Energy/ Deputy Prime Minister: We

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku is in Rome as part of the meeting between the two governments, the Italian and Albanian.

Balluku met with the Minister of Environment and Energy of Italy, Gilberto Pichetto Frati, the focus of this meeting is the strategic project for the construction of the underwater line that will connect the two countries.

Balluku writes that this investment will open a new chapter and will serve as an important corridor for the region's energy security as it is part of the East-West energy corridor.

"Today I had the pleasure of holding a fruitful conversation with the Minister of Environment and Energy of Italy, Mr. Gilberto Pichetto Fratin. We discussed extensively on strengthening cooperation between Albania and Italy in the energy sector, with a focus on the strategic project for the construction of the underwater line that will connect our two countries.

A project, part of the East-West energy corridor, which includes Romania-Bulgaria-Greece-Albania and Italy, as an important corridor for the energy security of the entire region.

This investment will open a new chapter in our relations and contribute to energy security and sustainability in the region.
