Prime Minister Edi Rama distanced himself this afternoon from SPAK's accusations against former minister Arben Ahmetaj, for his connection with incinerators.

Rama said in a video message that it is not up to him to say whether Ahmetaj is guilty or not.

"Unlike all other stories, this story is difficult to treat as a success because it's about people whose families you happened to know, caressed their children. Arben Ahmetaj is neither an unknown person nor a distant collaborator for me, he is one of the fellow travelers I have collaborated with the most. I discussed a lot of decision-making with Ahmetaj. It's not up to me to say whether Ahmetaj is guilty or innocent, but unlike a case a few years ago when the prosecution's request had to be limited, today's must be authorized without any doubt," said Rama.

Further, the head of the government stated that this matter belongs to justice.

"We were presented with the file of a voluminous investigative work. The court will say. That file creates doubts that are sufficient for us not to stop SPAK for inspection. It is up to justice to tell us to the end whether it is a case of guilt or innocence," the Prime Minister emphasized./ CNA.al
