Kilometer queue in Kukës/ Elezi lists possible causes: Scandal and

The former head of the Kukës Democratic Party branch, Ibsen Elezi, has raised concerns about the traffic situation and the long queues at the entrance to this city.

Traffic is created due to the diversion made at Ura Drini i Zi.

Elezi states in a post on social networks that despite the fact that the bridge was tested in June, it continues to be closed.

According to him, there are three theses circulating for the non-opening of this bridge, which are the technical problems, the lack of time from Prime Minister Edi Rama to go and inaugurate it, and because a solution has not been found for the residents of the Drinas neighborhood.

The latter rose in protest a month ago, due to the lack of underpasses and overpasses on the "Nation Road". They have appealed for a solution to this problem as they are already isolated with no way out.

Referring to these theses, Elezi says that if there are technical problems, it is a scandal and irresponsibility. He adds that the residents of Drinas are within their rights, with the argument that it is unacceptable not to plan a secondary road for a work that cost 35 million euros.

Furthermore, Elezi doesn't even spare an irony, where he writes that unlike the mayor Erion Veliaj, the SP promised to steal while working.

Dealing with kilometers queues during this entire summer period has been almost daily. The new bridge, although tested on 25.06.2024, continues to be closed for more than 2 months.

According to rumors, since there is still no public statement from the responsible institutions, 3 variants are said:
1. There are technical problems.
2. The Prime Minister did not have time for its inauguration.
3. Because no solution has been found for the residents of the Drinas neighborhood.
- In the first case, it is irresponsible and a scandal if it were true.
- In the second case, it is justifiable since the prime minister's agenda was "full" and this is easily verifiable in the media.
- Regarding the residents of the Drinas neighborhood, it is their right to find a solution even for one family, but to keep a bridge that cost 35 million euros blocked for not planning a 500m secondary road, is as scandalous as not having one at the summer traffic point.
