Rama leaves some messages to the ambassadors: More attention to Albanians abroad
Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama at the Ambassadors' Conference "Tirana Diplo 2024" left the task to the ambassadors who represent Albania in different countries of the world.

The first task is to increase care towards Albanians abroad.

"Full will and commitment to increase care for Albanians abroad. There is much to do, but much has changed in terms of consular services and the strengthening of strategic alliances and traditional friendships. And when Albania's alliances and friendships are clear and unchanging, it is important to strengthen Albania's profile as a reliable partner," said Rama.

Further, the head of the government stated that we are a small country and we must maintain modesty to continue to understand the vital necessity to grow stronger as a state and as a nation.

"Our alliances are as clear as sunlight. Friendships are known. Thirdly, we have been profiled and we will continue to strengthen the profile of undoubted partners and steadfast friends and of course being in this part of Europe that has a heritage not it's not easy to mix relationships, stories and interests. We are traditional friends of Turkey and Greece. For us, these are two very important friendships, but at the same time it is written in black and white , since the beginning and it has become part of the agenda of our foreign policy, whether Turkey, Greece or Italy are our strategic partners. We are a small country and the awareness of size is very important to maintain modesty, but and to continue to understand the vital necessity to grow stronger as a state and as a nation", he said.

According to him, it is very important to guard against losing the sense of our size, which in the past has gone to undesirable excesses accompanied by the drums of folkloric nationalism and has cost Albania international relations.

"On the other hand let's guard against the inferiority complex as we have no reason for either the first or the second. Both have been colors that have consistently defined and damaged our foreign policy. To grow empowered and to continue to nurture our respect, we must speak clearly and respectfully with our allies and friends, but demand the same clarity and respect from our allies and friends. This is very important and this has helped us since today we are in a different position, that when we talk about Albania, we don't talk about a shadowy country. When Albania is mentioned in the corridors, offices or auditoriums of international politics, its name has a different sound," he said. CNA
