The reaction of the KZHK for toxic waste, Spahiu: Justice should start

The National Development Movement reacts to the toxic waste scandal. Its co-chairman, Ekrem Spahia, through a statement to the media, asks the judicial authorities to immediately start investigations, to prove what toxic waste has circulated in Albania, who organizes this illegal trade and to what extent it is immersed the state in this criminal activity.

Statement to the media:

# For several days, the international media have reported that 816 tons of toxic waste exported from Albania have been blocked by Thailand and China.

Considering that this is not an act of nameless clandestines, but an official clandestine continuation of Albania, which has exposed Albania as the place where hazardous industrial waste is loaded and unloaded at ports and airports as if it were a godless land.

This situation is made more serious by the fact that Albanian institutions such as: the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Ministry of the Environment, the Port of Durrës, the Customs Directorate, the State Police, etc., do not express any official reaction to be transparent about who these wastes belong to dangerous and how they left Albania.

Trade in illegal toxic waste, especially in these sizes, is impossible to do without the knowledge or corruption of the responsible state institutions. But even if it is assumed that the state had no knowledge, then why does the state exist? On the other hand, if the state is involved in this organized crime - this is alarming.

As it has been reported, this blocked amount of toxic waste, at the end of the investigations by the responsible authorities, will be returned to the Albanian territory. The return of this amount of dangerous waste will create not only a danger to the life and health of citizens, but will also seriously harm national security.

The Movement for National Development calls on the justice authorities to immediately start investigations, to prove what toxic waste has circulated in Albania, who organizes this illegal trade and to what extent the state is immersed in this criminal activity .

Albanians cannot accept the import of garbage because it is a destruction for Albania!

# Precisely at the height of the scandal in the international traffic of toxic waste, the Government has prepared the draft law on the import of garbage.

We must remember that over the last twenty years, three initiatives by different governments, which aimed to allow the import of waste, have failed due to the reaction and citizen protests.

The Movement for National Development has its position and insists that the import of garbage is a disaster for Albania, so the Government should withdraw it, because the Assembly of Albania cannot vote a law that is against the life and health of Albanians and in favor of the garbage mafia.

# The high temperatures of August have not prevented Albanian citizens from protesting in the squares and streets about the insecurity of life, corruption and injustices: in the axis Thumanë - Kashar, the residents of Krujë and Fushë Krujë are protesting that they have been isolated; farmers are protesting in the country's streets, who are bankrupting them; from citizens in different districts protesting about the lack of water; for suffocation from garbage; for the many fires, etc./CNA
