Speaking at the "Tirana Diplo 2024" conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the pro-active role of ambassadors is of particular importance.

In his speech, he drew attention to the role played by the Albanian ambassador in the United Nations Assembly, while also highlighting the role of the Albanian ambassador in NATO.

He said that in 2027, Albania will host the NATO Summit in Tirana, a development that was not even imagined years ago.

"Thanks to another ambassador, who today is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and it is no coincidence that he was asked to run for the role of Secretary General of the OSCE, we have increased the prestige of our country and nurtured prestige and respect", said Edi Rama .

The Prime Minister also warned that the leaders of 44 countries will gather in Tirana next year.

"We had full will and commitment to increase the care of Albanians abroad. We have a lot to do in this direction, but there is a significant improvement in relations between Albanians abroad with embassies and consulates", said Rama.

Next, he spoke about alliances with steadfast friends and undoubted partners, stressing that Albania already has its strategic allies as clear as day.

"We are traditional friends of Greece and Turkey, but at the same time, for us, Turkey, Greece and Italy are our strategic partners", said the Prime Minister, stating that "we must grow and we must strengthen both as a state and even as a nation" ./CNA
