Allegations that Meta was raped during arrest/ Ballanca reveals what the PL

Ombudsman Erinda Ballanca responded to the accusations of the head of the Freedom Party Parliamentary Group, Tedi Blushi, against justice institutions for the manner of arresting former president Ilir Meta.

Ballanca said that the institution she heads has not found any violations of justice institutions and not all the allegations that appeared in the media were true.

The Ombudsman said that there were no differences in the uniform used by the special forces.

" We have not found any violations of the justice institution. We have a limited mandate regarding the justice institution. Regarding the state police, we have found some violations. Not all the allegations presented in the media have been founded. What we have identified is that the manner of detention is contrary to the relevant law, because the human dignity of Mr. Meta was not respected. There were problems with the distinctive unit and the uniform that should be used by the special forces ," she said.

Ballanca said that Meta had not alleged violence from the State Police and in the presence of his lawyer, according to documents, the PL leader stated that he was not raped.

 

"He did not claim violence from the State Police. There are two documents, one in the presence of the lawyer and one at the first moment of entering the security block, where he admitted that he was not raped ," Ballanca declared./ CNA
