A few days ago, Prime Minister Edi Rama published two photos, one of Albanian emigrants who took the boats in Vlora 30 years ago and fled to Bari and another showing the ferries to Albania with Italian tourists leaving for vacation in his country.

Prime Minister Edi Rama was asked today about these photos that created controversy during an interview with the Italian media "Rai Neës24".

The head of the government said that that photo was a joke to show Albania's journey over the years.

"Most of all, it was not an irony, but only a joke, and I believe that we should laugh when there are happy moments and when we see the steps of the journey to get here. Yes, this really special year we have the big surprise that is the Italians who are reaching more or less 500,000, a special news. A welcome news and of course we are happy, because we look at the Italians with a moral decompensation, in the sense that Italy accepted us for many years, made us feel at home, and now having Italians at home is what we have always dreamed of ", emphasized Rama./ CNA
